The day after Christmas, we headed out to Breckenridge, CO to go skiing. This was Anna's first time to get to ski, so she spent the first 2 days in ski school. She wasn't thrilled about getting up early for "school" but she soon got over it once she saw how much fun it was going to be. She went shopping with me to pick out her ski outfit a few days before we left. All she wanted was a pink jacket. And every other girl in ski school wanted the same thing... it was a little tricky finding her in the crowd :)
She did an amazing job! My initial thoughts about her skiing were that she'd hate it and we'd get a phone call to come pick her up on the first day. Thankfully, she loved it and even got to ski with us on our last day there. If you ask her what her favorite thing was, she'll tell you it was the ski lift. She only rode it once with us, but it left a lasting impression. I had a blast skiing with her and can't wait until we go again!
Joseph had a lot of bonding time with Granny. He's too young to do ski school, so he stayed in and played with the toys we brought. He even got to go to a children's museum one morning. We all took a day off from skiing during the week and went to a ceramics/painting place in town. The kids loved painting! After that, we went to a movie and just relaxed the rest of the day.
Some other activities the kids enjoyed were building snowmen, making snow angels, playing on the playground, and sledding. The weather was perfect while we were there. It snowed one day, but it stayed in the upper 20's and low 30's which was totally bearable for all of us. It was a great trip and we look forward to 2 years from now when we get to go again!
