Upward Basketball

Anna decided she wanted to play basketball, so we signed her up for Upward basketball at the church down the street. Some of her classmates were playing, so we figured we'd sign her up with some kids she already knew. Her team was the Lil' Lions and she was the only girl on the team. She was bummed about that until I told her that my first basketball team was all boys and me. That seemed to help her :)

She learned a lot of skills and had a lot of fun. The nice thing about Upward is that they will stop the game and explain to the kids the rules and help teach them the fundamentals of basketball. Anna enjoyed playing basketball except she didn't like how the boys didn't share the ball with her... haha! I promised her that if she plays basketball again, it would be with girls. She made the first shot she attempted for the season and got much better with dribbling and defense as the season went on. Her favorite part was the breakfast burritos after the games. Silly girl! It love watching her play basketball and hope she enjoys playing as much as I enjoy watching her.
