4th of July

We started our 4th of July celebrations on the 3rd with a picnic and patriotic concert in the park. The kids enjoyed playing on the playground and making up their own games using Grandmommy's cloth napkins. The rest of us enjoyed the patriotic music. Marc's sister and her family were in town for the 4th and there are more celebrations coming this weekend with their family. More on that later. Here are some pictures from the picnic/concert:

He fell asleep in the car on the way there, so I think he wanted to continue his nap

We celebrated the 4th by going to Marc's parents' house for some delicious food. Don grilled some yummy steak, Amy made Elote (delicious Cuban corn on the cob), Jan made some patriotic cupcakes, my mom made an apple pie, and we all ate until we were stuffed. Before we ate, the kids all did some swimming while my mom and I did some painting. Once we were all together, we just enjoyed the company and the food until well after sun set. We opted out of fireworks this year, mainly because we were having too much fun just relaxing. Happy 4th of July and God Bless America!

Joseph was a bit jealous that Ogden got to play with this, so he had to have his turn

Time for a "cousins" picture... there are very few where Anna doesn't have her tongue out...

This one is a keeper!
