Happy Halloween

Halloween was so enjoyable this year with both kids being able to participate in so many activities. We started off the Halloween week by baking cookies together. We made cookies in spooky shapes with sprinkles. Anna was great at putting the cookies in to the mold and pouring the sprinkles on and Joseph was great at eating the sprinkles right off the top of the raw dough.

We had one of Anna's friend, Jacob, come over for a playdate so the kids make some Halloween cupcakes. They had orange and black sprinkles in the batter and the kids got to add their own icing and more sprinkles. Again, Joseph just wanted to eat the toppings and Anna decorated before eating.

We carved a pumpkin together one evening. The kids were really into digging all the goo out of the pumpkin. I was shocked that Anna even got close to it. Joseph would have preferred to do the carving, but he still enjoyed the messy part.

Anna got to wear her costume to church during her children's choir class. They did fun activities and ate lots of goodies that night. She was most excited to be Cinderella while her best friend at church was Sleeping Beauty. Those girls had a blast together.

Joseph's Gymboree class did a costume party as well. He was Gus, the fat mouse from Cinderella. I'm going to see how long I can get away with coordinating my kids before they start objecting to it. They looked absolutely precious together. And my mom did a fantastic job making his mouse costume!!

Our church did a Trunk or Treat out in the parking lot where the kids could trick-or-treat at several cars, ride a little train, ride ponies, and jump in bounce houses. They had a blast! I think Joseph would have been just fine staying at our car in our box of candy that was supposed to be for all the other kids. He sat in the box and would hand me piece after piece saying, "Please?" and expecting me to open each piece for him. The kid had much more candy that I would normally approve of, but it's one day a year, right?? Anna loved all the activities! She was very independent this year and said "trick or treat" at each trunk and even said "thank you" without being prompted. What a sweet girl!

We finished the night by trick-or-treating in each set of grandparents' neighborhoods. They had so much fun!
